Xiaomi 18 Pro Series Arrives With Dual 200MP Cameras and Up to 8,500mAh Battery

Xiaomi has introduced its new 18 Pro series in China, bringing some unusually large numbers to its latest flagship smartphones. The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max comes with an 8,500mAh battery, while the standard Xiaomi 18 Pro features a 7,000mAh battery.

The phones also stand out for their camera hardware. Both models feature a 200MP primary camera along with a 200MP periscope telephoto camera. Xiaomi has also included a secondary display on the rear, Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipsets, and HyperOS 4.

Xiaomi 18 Pro and Pro Max Feature a Secondary Display

The Xiaomi 18 Pro comes with a 6.4-inch OLED display, while the larger Pro Max model has a 6.9-inch OLED screen. Both displays support refresh rates of up to 120Hz for smoother scrolling and animations.

There is another display on the back of each phone, positioned next to the camera system. The screen measures 2.7 inches on the Xiaomi 18 Pro and 2.9 inches on the Pro Max.

This rear display can be used for checking basic information, controlling certain functions and accessing supported app cards without relying on the main screen.

Xiaomi has also added a privacy-focused feature to the primary display. It is designed to reduce visibility from side angles, which could be useful when viewing private information in public places.

Dual 200MP Cameras Take Center Stage

Camera hardware is one of the biggest highlights of the Xiaomi 18 Pro lineup.

Both smartphones feature a 200MP main camera and a second 200MP periscope telephoto camera. The telephoto camera supports 3.2x optical zoom and can also be used for close-up photography.

A 50MP ultrawide camera completes the rear camera setup.

The phones continue Xiaomi’s partnership with Leica. Users also get Leica-inspired shooting styles along with Xiaomi’s latest image-processing technology.

While a high megapixel count does not automatically guarantee better photos, having two 200MP sensors gives the new phones a notable hardware advantage on paper.

Different Snapdragon Processors

Xiaomi has used different Qualcomm chipsets in the two models.

The Xiaomi 18 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, while the Pro Max uses the higher-end Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6.

Both are designed for demanding smartphone workloads. The difference between the two models is expected to be more noticeable during activities such as high-end gaming, intensive camera processing and other resource-heavy tasks.

The Pro Max is available with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. Both phones run HyperOS 4 based on Android 17.

Xiaomi 18 Pro Max Gets an 8,500mAh Battery

The battery capacity is another major highlight of the new lineup.

The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max packs an 8,500mAh battery, while the standard Xiaomi 18 Pro has a 7,000mAh battery. These capacities are considerably larger than what is commonly found in many flagship smartphones.

Both models support 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. Xiaomi has also included 27W reverse wired charging, allowing the phone to provide power to compatible devices.

Actual battery life will still depend on factors such as display settings, network conditions, apps and usage habits, so the larger capacity should not be taken as a guarantee of a specific runtime.

Xiaomi 18 Pro Series Price in China

The Xiaomi 18 Pro starts at CNY 5,999 in China. A direct currency conversion puts that at roughly ₹85,800, although this is only a simple conversion and should not be considered the final price for India.

The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max starts at CNY 6,999, which is approximately ₹1 lakh after a direct conversion.

International pricing can be different because of taxes, distribution costs, local pricing strategies and other factors. Therefore, the Chinese prices should not be used as an exact indication of the Indian prices.

Will the Xiaomi 18 Pro Series Launch in India?

Xiaomi has confirmed that the 18 Pro series will be released globally, meaning the lineup is not expected to remain exclusive to China.

However, an official India launch date has not been confirmed yet. Xiaomi India has started sharing information related to the new generation, but it is still necessary to wait for an official announcement regarding the specific models and their availability in India.

For now, the 8,500mAh battery on the Pro Max and dual 200MP camera setup across the series are the standout features of Xiaomi’s latest flagship lineup. More details about international availability and Indian pricing should become clearer when Xiaomi announces the global rollout.
